London Christmas Village is an immersive Christmas experience at Shepherd’s Bush Green. Visitors move through a sequence of themed rooms, from the Poet’s Study to the Father Christmas Lodge, the Workshop, the Mouse Registry, and beyond, becoming part of the story as it unfolds around them. Along the way, a Christmas secret kept for generations comes to light. The details are part of the journey, revealed only once you’re there. At London Christmas Village, you step into an original story and carry it with you long after you leave, as it becomes part of your family’s own Christmas tradition.
Your visit begins in the Poet’s Study, in a cosy room built for just twenty. You take your seats on benches, and the walls come alive around you with a 270-degree projection that wraps three sides of the room in light. This is where the story unfolds: the tale of an agreement made generations ago, and a secret that has been kept all these years. By the time the lights settle, you’re no longer being told a story. You’re standing inside one, and the rest of the Journey carries on from there.
After the Poet’s Study, you are welcomed together with your family into Father Christmas’s own Lodge. This is where time slows down as you step into his warm, familiar space. You sit with him as he shares his stories, and reveals the oldest Christmas secret that has been kept for generations. Before you leave, one of Father Christmas’s elves takes your picture, and of course, children don’t leave empty-handed. They are given a token, theirs to keep until they reach the Village, where they choose a gift.
From the Lodge, you make your way into the Workshop, a cosy, hands-on room led by one of Father Christmas’s own elves. Here, the work is yours to do. You sit down, and under the elf’s guidance, your hands get busy making two keepsakes to take home: a Secret Mouse Door charm, and a Christmas Mouse message scroll, a little note, written and sealed by your own hand, ready to post home for the Christmas Mice to find once you’re back. You’re now officially part of the story, long after you’ve left the Village.
You take your seat inside the Big Top for the final visit of the Journey, and the story comes properly to life on a stage, in front of everyone. The elves of the Mouse Registry reveal a problem, and ask for your help solving it. While they build a giant mouse house on stage, you build your own miniature version alongside them. A little house, just the right size for a corner at home, ready for your own Christmas Mouse to find. By the time you’re finished, the problem has been solved, and you are holding something you made with your own hands. You take it home, and the story you stepped into becomes part of your family’s Christmas, year after year.
Back inside the lantern-lit atrium, you feel the structure of the Journey start to loosen. A giant tree stands ahead of you, and a forest pathway winds out from it, with clues and small curiosities tucked along the way, if you look closely enough. It’s your last quiet moment before the Journey opens out into the free-flow world of the Village Square.
This is where your Journey ends, and an immersive Disckensian Village comes to life with every member of staff in character. You wander past the bauble shop, choose something from the sweet cart, and stop at the Post Office to send a Christmas card home. Carollers and live musicians play from the bandstand while you sit with hot chocolate and a seasonal snack. You ride the Carousel, make reindeer food to leave out on Christmas Eve, and finally walk down Toy Lane where the token from Father Christmas becomes a real, handmade gift, yours to choose.
